Juliet Kurtzman, violin
Pete Malinverni, piano

Join 92Y School of Music faculty member and acclaimed violinist Juliet Kurtzman for a very special concert with jazz pianist and chair of jazz studies at Purchase College Conservatory of Music (SUNY) Pete Malinverni.

They perform music from their new recording, Candlelight: Love in the Time of Cholera – a Downbeat Editor’s Pick – featuring music of the Americas in its broadest sense, with tangos by Astor Piazzolla and Carlos Gardel, a Scott Joplin rag, a Brazilian choriño, selections by genius cornetist Bix Beiderbecke and more. The album title is a nod to the writer Gabriel Garcia-Marquez, and it is Kurtzman and Malinverni’s wish to have their music celebrate human connection at a time when we need intimacy – and the joy that music brings – more than ever. Join us for this dynamic and inspiring free concert!

The broadcast will begin at 4pm Pacific / 7pm Eastern.

The concert stream will be available to ticket buyers for one full week from the time of broadcast. View it live, or at your convenience!
