The Arts at St. Mark’s

David Higgs, organ

One of America’s leading concert organists, David Higgs is also Chair of the Organ Department at the Eastman School of Music. This is his first appearance at Saint Mark’s.

This season we celebrate especially the 50th anniversary of the Flentrop pipe organ. It was formally dedicated on September 19, 1965. The inaugural concert was performed by one of the greatest 20th century concert organists, E. Power Biggs, on September 25, 1965. A landmark among pipe organs in North America, it continues to inspire countless music lovers, organists, and organ builders.

Suggested donation: $18 adult; $12 student/senior. Advance passes available at the Cathedral Shop, (206) 323-1040.
