Igor Stravinsky – L'Histoire du soldat ("The Soldier’s Tale")

Stravinsky reinvented his compositional approach in the aftermath of WWI and the Spanish Flu pandemic of 1918 – distilling the opulence and intricacy of his early works into an intimate, condensed style. L’Histoire du soldat ("The Soldier’s Tale") is a theatrical work “to be read, played, and danced” and takes on an intimacy that suits the moralizing message of the drama: greed leads to ruin. The Boulder Phil is delighted to collaborate with our friends in the UC Department of Theater and Boulder Ballet to present this unique program.

A pre-concert discussion will be held via Zoom at 7pm Mountain / 6pm Pacific. This event premieres on April 3 at 7:30pm Mountain / 6:30pm Pacific and will be available for on-demand viewing until April 17.

Tickets: $40 per household, or purchase a 4-concert digital membership for $100.
