Japanese songs
Pacific Northwest based pianist Cori Belle performs a CD release concert. A gifted artist who earned her degree in Piano Performance, Mrs. Belle will perform a concert titled “Commonplace Beauty.” The repertoire features lyrical works by Rachmaninoff and Chopin as well as lesser-known contemporary gems by Leonard Bernstein and Alberto Ginastera. She is joined by Mrs. Seiko Werts, soprano, who will perform a set of Japanese songs and several original compositions.
Mrs. Belle enjoys freelancing in the greater Seattle area. As accompanist for the Kirkland Choral Society, she has collaborated in concert with Philharmonia Northwest and Skyros Quartet, and performed commissions by Ola Gjeilo, Gerry Marsh, and Dr. Stephen Michael Newby. She is an accomplished choral accompanist, having performed with various choirs in Arizona, Washington, Michigan, and Rhode Island. Mrs. Belle regularly programs and performs concerts in her home as part of her Indie Musikhaus series, bringing in musicians from jazz, classical, and gospel traditions to a frequently packed house.
Mrs. Belle trained at Grand Canyon University in Phoenix and at the American Institute of Musical Studies in Graz, Austria.
