Join Dr. Quinton Morris and collaborative pianist Joseph Williams for this very special concert benefiting the Key to Change and its Empowering Youth for Change Fund.

Key to Change inspires underserved youth through world-class music instruction and supporting their development as self-aware leaders. Founded directed by violinist, educator, and entrepreneur Dr. Quinton Morris, Key to Change organizes a violin studio in South King County which serves middle and high school students of color and economically disadvantaged backgrounds. This concert showcases Key to Change's two music instructors as they team up for an unforgettable performance!

About Quinton Morris

Quinton Morris, DMA, Associate Professor, Violin, at Seattle University is a multifaceted teacher and performer. He is the inaugural Artist-Scholar-in-Residence at Classical KING, where he hosts Unmute The Voices, a radio show and video series celebrating the music and performances of BIPOC composers and performers with dedicated space for BIPOC artistry. He is the executive director and founder of Key to Change, a non-profit violin and viola studio serving South King County that focuses on creating opportunities for young musicians of color and those from underserved, lower socio-economic backgrounds. He recently graduated from the business management program at Harvard Extension School and received the Pathfinder Award from the Puget Sound Association of Phi Beta Kappa and the Outstanding Studio Teacher Award by the Washington State Chapter of the American String Teachers Association. He holds a doctorate in violin performance from the University of Texas at Austin and is a voting member of the Recording Academy (The Grammys). He has performed recitals and given master classes around the world including venues at Carnegie Hall, the Sydney Opera House, and the Louvre Museum. He is also a former co-chair of the Seattle Arts Commission and resides in Seattle.

About Joseph Williams

Joseph Williams is a pianist, educator, film producer and curator from Tacoma, WA.

Memorable performance venues include The John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts, The Northwest African American Museum and Dubai's Al Jalila Cultural Centre for Children. Upcoming engagements include performances at Fort Worth Opera and Steinway Hall (NYC).

He is founder and director of Tukwila Kids Make Music, a free music instruction program offering piano and violin classes to underserved children (K-5).

He is an advisory board member for New Music Initiative for Black Voices, a nationwide invitational that aims to celebrate and empower Black composers and their music. He also serves on MTNA's Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion committee.

Curations include Black Splendor, a free ten-episode virtual series highlighting Black musicians and composers residing in the Pacific Northwest.

He is Curator of Art and Music at Lakewold Gardens.
