This is a family-friendly concert. The Everett Philharmonic, under the baton of Dr. Paul-Elliott Cobbs, will open with the Overture to L'Italiana in Algiers by Gioachino Rossini. Since the holiday season is fast approaching, Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky's Nutcracker Suite will put you in the mood. There will be a concerto by the SCMTA competition winner TBA. Next, the rousing Allegro from Tchaikovsky's 1812 Overture and, with a little help from the audience, Leroy Anderson's Sleigh Ride.
Immediately following the concert, there will be an opportunity for the audience to meet the instrument families and their players up close and personal, and even get a mini conducting lesson from Dr. Cobbs!
