First Friday Salons: A journey around the British Isles

Join mezzo-soprano Nerys Jones and pianist Tim Barrick on a journey across the ocean to sample flavors of the British Isles. The musical banquet begins with a visit to the Celtic nations of Wales, Scotland and Ireland, then hops over the border for some English fare. There is a feast of beautiful art songs on the menu with cherry-picked favorites by John Ireland, Roger Quilter, and Benjamin Britten. The musical potluck ends where it started, back in mouth-watering Wales; Nerys Jones’ roots, land of the leek, the daffodil, and more pertinently, “The Land of Song!”
