Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart – String Quartet No. 19 in C Major, K. 465 “Dissonance”
Ludwig van Beethoven – String Quartet No. 7 in F major, Op. 59, No. 1

The Fulton Street Chamber Players, a varied ensemble of Seattle Symphony players and invited professional musicians, returns for a fifth season at Folio: The Seattle Athenaeum.

The Players will perform a Beethoven quartet each concert this season in celebration of his 250th.

This evening’s program will consist of the Mozart K. 465, “Dissonance” string quartet in C major and the Beethoven String Quartet Op. 59 No. 1 in F Major. Founders Walter Gray, cello, and Rachel Swerdlow, viola, will be joined by Artur Girsky and Natasha Bazhanov, violins.

These intimate performances evoke the house-party atmosphere of chamber music as performed in the era before concert halls; where friends would gather, drinks were served, and new works would be heard. Audience members at Folio surround the players and sit close to the action. A complimentary wine reception follows, where these fine musicians mingle with audience members and new friends are made.

Tickets: $25 ($20 Folio members)
