Note from the Host: "Welcome to our Groupmuse! This is Alturas Duo's first ever virtual concert and one of the few concerts we've been able to perform since March 2020!
"We'll be performing music from the very North and South of our globe! Th program will include the premiere of two new pieces for viola and guitar; one by Lithuanian-born Norway based composer, Povilos Syrrist-Gelgota and another by Argentine, Guillermo Jorge Zalcman. In addition, there will be premieres of solo viola music by Chilean composer Patricio Wang and the Buenos Aires-based musician, Sergio Parotti. The program will also feature For Mark, a piece for solo guitar by Scott Hill. Finally, there will be music we've learned in the oral tradition while on our many tours throughout South America that will be performed on charango and guitar.
