Guangdong National Orchestra of China (GNOC)

Silk Road Melody is a musical epic telling the story of the Chinese sailors whose pioneer voyage across the ocean opened up trade and cultural exchange with foreign lands. The Silk Road stretching across the sea starts here… Sit back, relax, and let your imagination soar. Silk Road Melody’s beautifully exotic music will take you on an ocean journey to visit new cultures. You won’t be disappointed.

Currently celebrating its 67th anniversary, the Guangdong National Orchestra of China (GNOC) is consistently hailed as one of China’s greatest orchestras and among its most important cultural institutions. Committed to advancing China’s musical heritage at home and abroad, the GNOC engages with the audience through innovative programming and a broad range of performances that showcase the exceptional beauty of authentic Chinese music. All of its 70 musicians have in common their tremendous musical talent, technical ability across genres, and, crucially, a desire to give their all during every performance.
