Dana Reason — Selected works

Dana Reason, keyboard
Lori Goldston, cello
Nicholas Brannen, piano

Jack Straw Cultural Center continues our series of intimate piano performances in our studio, highlighting the diversity and talent of Jack Straw Artists and the beauty and range of our Steinway B grand piano.

This installment features Jack Straw Artist Dana Reason, joined by cellist Lori Goldston and Nicholas Brannen. Dana Reason is a composer, improvisor, keyboardist, sound artist, producer, and researcher working at the intersections of twentieth and twenty-first century musical genres and intermedia practices. Dana received a Jack Straw Artist Support Program residency in 2013 to produce her album Reasoning. Dana and cellist Lori Goldston will play a set of recent music as well as select material from Reasoning. Nicholas Brannen explores improvisation and popular styles of music while also finding a home in experimental and new age music in his performances. He is currently working on his Bachelor's degree at Cornish College and is expected to graduate this December.
