Join the Jack Straw Cultural Center for an afternoon of music and performance, as they celebrate spring with some of the fantastic work produced by resident artists in the Jack Straw Artist Support Program.

Beth Fleenor's Workshop Ensemble (WE) will perform original music for blindfolded ensemble. Through the use of blindfolds to heighten full body listening/awareness, WE cultivates focused intention in a practice of non-visual, non-verbal empathic communication.

Gin Hammond's VRVO will perform a scene from her artist residency project, a virtual reality production of The Westerbork Serenade, a play about Jewish performers at the Westerbork Camp during WWII.

Aaron J. Shay will perform songs from his Artist Support Program project Apocalypse Songs, an album of 10 songs that are part of the theatrical show of the same title.

Neil Welch and mezzo-soprano Danielle Sampson will perform music from Neil's Artist Support Program project Concepcion Picciotto, a musical work for saxophone quartet, string quartet, musician "birds," and orator. Neil will also play selections of the finished recordings, to be released later this year.
