Andrew Friedman, clarinet

Astor Piazzolla – Tango Etudes (selections)
Heinrich Sutermeister – Capriccio
Evan Ziporyn – "Honshirabe" and "Pengrangrang Gde" from Four Impressions
Miklos Rozsa – Sonatina, Op. 27

Note from the host: "I'm thrilled to welcome you all to the first of a new series of programs for clarinet(s) alone, attempting to prove that – even when isolated – unaccompanied music can be uniquely evocative and transporting. And that's certainly the key to this opening program featuring music written of home but from far afield, in which "home" is all over the globe – from the Buddhist shrines of Japan to the forests of Hungary, from the chilly Alpine vistas of Sweden to the cafes of Buenos Aires. In a time of limited movement and isolation, this music comes as a welcome exploration of faraway places and peoples."

The livestream will take place at 7:30pm Pacific. Broadcasting live from Novato, CA.
