Medieval Women’s Choir: Hodie!
$30 door / $25 advance/ $15 students/youth
The explosive joy that washed across Europe on Christmas is summed up in this one exclamation. Hodie – or “Today” – is the word that begins many of the sacred texts sung on that day: Today Christ is born! Today the Savior appeared! Today on earth the angels sing! After weeks of waiting through the penitential season, the faithful celebrated with 12 days of dancing, processions, and feasts, and the immediacy of that word was the cue to unleash it all. The Medieval Women’s Choir unleashes its joy in sharing masterpieces of the season from cathedral, court, and countryside.
