Giovanni Battista Pergolesi – Stabat Mater
St. James Cathedral observes the traditional Good Friday devotion of Tre Ore ("Three Hours") in which they remember the last words of Christ proclaimed from the cross. These brief exclamations from Jesus alternate with movements from Giovanni Battista Pergolesi's Stabat Mater and meditations by Father Stephen Rowan, PhD on the Seven Last Words of Christ. Stacey Sunde directs Jubilate!, St. James’ advanced level choir for high school girls, and the Cathedral Chamber Orchestra.
This liturgy is open to all. There will be a freewill offering.
