Since 1998, Music of Remembrance (MOR) has commissioned over 30 new works that honor the victims of injustice and persecution. That legacy continues with MOR's 20th season spring concert, with the world premiere of Christophe Chagnard's Gaman. The work’s title refers to the struggle to endure the unbearable with patience and dignity. Combining traditional Japanese and classical Western instruments, the work brings a powerful story to life through the witness of artists and writers among the prisoners in Minidoka.

The MOR ensemble is: Mikhail Shmidt, violin; Natasha Bazhanov, violin;  Susan Gulkis Assadi, viola; Walter Gray, cello; Erich Parce, baritone; Mina Miller, piano; Jessica Choe, piano; Jonathan Green, double bass; and Laura DeLuca, clarinet.

At 4:15pm, Sean MacClean will interview composer Christophe Chagnard and art historian Barbara Johns.
