While Italy was busy acquiring its status as the center of the 17th- and 18th-century musical world, composers and performers in north Germany, Scandinavia, England, and Holland were busy developing their own unique sound by blending Italian influences with a distinctly northern sensibility and style. San Francisco's free-spirited early music powerhouse Agave Baroque offers up this program of fiery, bold, and inventive works by Dieterich Buxtehude, Samuel Peter Sidon, David Peterson, John Blow, and Johan Helmich Roman.

Pacific MusicWorks Underground and the Whidbey Island Music Festival present their second season of fun, informal, Cabaret-style concerts in the beautiful parish hall of St. Augustine's Episcopal Church in Freeland. Enjoy a world-class performance along with insights into the stories behind the music and complimentary wine and refreshments.

Tickets: $25 ($20 seniors 65+, youth under 18 enter FREE)
