Chicago-based cellist, composer, and educator Tomeka Reid, equally adept in classical and jazz contexts, will perform in collaboration with the 33rd Annual Seattle Improvised Music Festival. Ms. Reid's music combines her love for groove along with freer concepts. She performs with musicians Amelia Coulter, Ruby Dunphy, Stephen Fandrich, Evan Flory-Barnes, Ha-Yang Kim, Katie Levine, Carmen Rothwell, Paul Rucker, and dancers.

The Seattle Improvised Music Festival (SIMF) is the longest-running festival in the US dedicated solely to music that is completely improvised: no scores, no plans, no safety net. This is truly "music of the moment," allowing artists from diverse musical backgrounds to meet up in an atmosphere of spontaneity, intuition, playfulness, and discovery.

Tickets: $15 ($10 seniors, $5 students & Teen Tix)

This project received support from Washington State Arts Commission; WESTAF, The Western States Art Federation; and the National Endowment for the Arts.
