Seattle Opera: The Barber of Seville
$25 and up
Rossini – The Barber of Seville
Rossini’s vivacious romp starts with an iconic overture, gains speed with a parade of familiar melodies, and concludes with an “all is forgiven” finale bubbling over with joy. The prequel to Mozart’s Marriage of Figaro finds quick-witted Figaro helping Count Almaviva whisk fair Rosina away from her ghastly guardian through a series of schemes fit for a Bugs Bunny cartoon.
