In the first of a new free chamber music concert series hosted by the Seattle Central Library, violinist Candice Chin will be joined by pianist Jason Kuo in a program featuring Beethoven’s sunny and playful Violin Sonata No. 5 in F major, Op. 24, “Spring.”

Violinist Candice Chin received a Bachelor of Arts degree in music and economics from the University of Washington, where she studied violin with Steven Staryk. She also earned an MBA and MA from the University of Cincinnati. A Seattle native, Candice has played with the Northwest Symphony Orchestra, Octava Chamber Orchestra and Seattle Modern Orchestra. She was a prizewinner in the chamber music category of the Russian Chamber Music Foundation of Seattle’s 2011 Russian Piano Festival/Competition. She is a member of the Ladies Musical Club of Seattle and Philharmonia Northwest.

Pianist Jason S. Kuo studied with Martha Wasley at the University of California at Berkeley and was later coached by Janet Guggenheim, whose worldwide concert credits included over thirty years of collaboration with the celebrated violinist Itzhak Perlman. Besides being active as an accompanist, chamber musician, and keyboard member of the Northwest Symphony Orchestra, he also serves on the boards of Orchestra Seattle and the Seattle Chamber Singers and the Octava Chamber Orchestra.
