The Seattle Cello eXperiment, aka "Cello X," is a professional-level student cello ensemble. Founded in 2010 by local cellist Peter Williams, its members are classically trained and feature players who have gone on to study music at DePaul University and the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland.

Cello X is a crossover ensemble that is as adept at performing Bach as it is performing Alice in Chains and Metallica. It specializes in original and unique arrangements of today's most popular music. Our mission is to explore the sonic possibilities and push the musical boundaries of cello ensemble playing.
