Early Music Underground: Erin go Baroque – Celtic music, old and new
$15-$20 suggested donation
Skip the drunken hordes and nasty green beer and spend your St. Patrick's Day enjoying great music as Early Music Underground inaugurates a new series of concerts at St. John's Episcopal Church in Kirkland.
Fiddler and Irish whistle player Michael Albert (Portland, ME) and fiddler Brandon Vance (Seattle) join harpsichordist and cittern player Henry Lebedinsky for a night of baroque and traditional music, old and new, from Ireland and Scotland, including works by O'Carolan, Roseingrave, McGibbon, MacLean, and Oswald as well as new songs and tunes written by the performers.
Admission is by donation at the door, with $20 (general) and $15 (65+) suggested. Traditional social dancing will also be taught at the event – it's perfect for all ages.
