Johann Georg Pisendel — Selected works
Antonio Vivaldi — Selected works

The court of August the Strong in Dresden, 1697-1763, was home to a brilliant orchestra without equal in Europe. Johann Georg Pisendel, concertmaster of the group from 1728, collected music from far and wide for his private library, which was then deposited in Schranck No: II, (Closet No: II), after a 1760 fire destroyed almost all the music kept at court. sound|counterpoint draws its program from this vast compilation, including music of Pisendel himself, Vivaldi (with whom he shared immense mutual respect), and a host of lesser-known but exciting composers that you are certain to love!

Tickets at the door – cash or check only. $20 or pay-as-able; under age 12 free.
