Workshop $50, concert tickets at the door

Montréal recorder virtuoso Matthias Maute is bringing an exciting new project to the United States early in 2018: the great “American Recorder Rally.” Matthias is an internationally renowned recorder performer and teacher, composer, artistic co-director of Ensemble Caprice, award-winning recording artist, and much more

Working with up to twelve ARS Recorder Orchestras and Chapters around the country, Maute has created a large-scale concert program. The project, sponsored in part by the American Recorder Society, is designed to give players of intermediate level and above an opportunity to perform with a professional musician and conductor. Mr. Maute will direct participants in a two-hour rehearsal, with a performance the same day. The concert selections will be mostly solo works performed by Maute on recorder and traverso, and will include pieces with recorder orchestra. The pièce de résistance will be an original concerto he has composed specifically for this project.

Celebrate “Play the Recorder Month” (March 2018) by participating in this unique event!

Schedule for the "Rally" in Seattle:
1pm–3pm workshop/rehearsal
3pm–4pm break
4pm–5pm concert

The 4:00 PM concert is open to the public – tickets at the door.
