Live from Rome, Sir John Eliot Gardiner conducts the Orchestra dell'Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia in an effervescent programme including Mendelssohn’s "Italian" Symphony and, with soloist Piotr Anderszewski, Mozart's Piano Concerto No. 17. Rossini's sparkling overture to La gazza ladra completes the line-up.

After the acclaimed success of past concerts in Rome, Sir John Eliot Gardiner returns to the podium of the Orchestra dell'Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia to conduct a programme of joyous masterpieces by Rossini, Mozart and Mendelssohn. He and the orchestra are joined, for Mozart's irresistible Piano Concerto No. 17, by Polish pianist Piotr Anderszewski, one of the outstanding musicians of his generation.

Piotr Anderszewski appears courtesy of Warner Classics. His forthcoming album, to be released in January will be a characteristically creative version of J.S. Bach’s “The Well-Tempered Clavier”.
