Market Street Singers: A Festival of Favorites – A Community Choral Celebration

For seven years, the Market Street Singers have presented community sing-alongs featuring favorite choral classics, familiar “chestnuts” that singers continue to love no matter how many times they sing them. The success of these “Festivals of Favorites” has led them to offer them as ongoing events, at various venues, including NW Folklife. There has recently been markedly increased interest in choral sing-alongs in the area and they are proud to be part of this exciting trend.
The Market Street Singers provide the music, all you have to do is show up and enjoy the fun. This is not designed as a concert performance, but rather a community music-making event. Whereas singers of all abilities are welcome, non-singers are welcome to show up to just enjoy listening to the music. And singers, you get to choose what music we do from a list of over 25 titles.
No space reservations is required. In the unlikely event of a shortage of music scores, you may have to share with another participant. But isn’t this a lovely way to make friends?
