Leopold Godowsky — Selected works

This is the second of three concerts for SPU’s Godowsky Festival in Seattle. The president of International Godowsky Society, Cuban American pianist Antonio Iturrioz will present a lecture-recital on legendary pianist, composer, and pedagogue Leopold Godowsky. The lecture will emphasize that, as a composer of piano music, Godowsky stands with such piano giants as Chopin, Liszt, Rachmaninoff, and Scriabin. Mr. Iturrioz will also discuss Godowsky’s tribute to piano literature for the left hand and his pianistic principles. He will perform Godowsky’s compositions from all the important periods of the composer’s life.
