Right now Bach is as essential as ever, and the Saint Mark's Music Series is excited to be able to bring Bach to your homes through livestreaming. Michael Kleinschmidt, Canon for Cathedral Music at Saint Mark's Episcopal Cathedral, will offer a 70-minute program featuring three of Bach’s famous Toccatas and Fugues, as well as Bach’s monumental Passacaglia. In addition, Canon Kleinschmidt will offer brief commentary from the organ console about the music and the Flentrop Organ itself.

The livestream will take place at 7:30pm Pacific. Broadcasting live from Saint Mark's Episcopal Cathedral, Seattle, WA.

About Michael Kleinschmidt

Michael Kleinschmidt was appointed Canon for Cathedral Music at Saint Mark's in 2015 after serving in similar positions at Trinity Cathedral, Portland, Oregon, and Trinity Church, Boston. Michael's primary mentor in church music was the late Gerre Hancock, with whom he worked as Assistant Organist of Saint Thomas Church, New York City, in the early 1990s. Michael holds degrees in organ performance from the Oberlin Conservatory of Music and the Eastman School of Music. In addition to his vocation, he enjoys exploring the natural wonders of the Pacific Northwest on foot.
