Join AEON Ensemble (2 voices, string quartet, vibraphone) as we remix David Lynch's cinematic output to construct our own narrative of a nightmare, which we then live-score. Scenes from Wild at Heart, Blue Velvet, Mulholland Drive, Industrial Symphony No. 1, and so on will be set to compositions by Kaaija Saariaho, Dmitri Shostakovich, Henryk Górecki, and other brain-benders of the 20th and 21st centuries.
Featured works include Shostakovich's String Quartet No. 8; Kaija Saariaho's From the Grammar of Dreams; Henryk Górecki's String Quartet No. 3; and Berio's Sequenza III. All visuals will be remixed live by VJ Fuzzy Bastard.
Join us on Zoom as we make this virtual Halloween event fun by including a pie-making tutorial, an audio-visual DJ set, and throwing in one of the tamer pieces by György Ligeti.
