George Frideric Handel – Messiah, HWV 56

For generations, Handel’s Messiah has been one of classical music's greatest holiday traditions. Now, you can enjoy a free digital concert of this performance featuring conductor Jeannette Sorrell, an all-star roster of vocal soloists, and renowned vocal ensemble The Singers.

Join us at 7:30pm Central / 5:30pm Pacific for a panel discussion moderated by Artistic Director and Principal Violin Kyu-Young Kim on George Frideric Handel's investment in the transatlantic slave trade and what it means to perform his works today in light of this knowledge. Panelists include Jeannette Sorrell, Artistic Director and Founder of Apollo's Fire; Ahmed Anzaldúa, Director and Founder of Border CrosSing; and Steve Swayne, Professor of Music at Dartmouth College and President of the American Musicological Society.

The broadcast will take place at 8pm Central / 6pm Pacific.
