Sound Off: Music for Bail presents a pre-recorded and livestreamed Groupmuse concert in collaboration with the Justice Committee in celebration of the life of co-founder Richie Perez and his incredible impact. A quartet of NYC-based musicians will perform works by Puerto Rican composers Angelica Negron, Iván Enrique Rodriguez, and more, while violist and former IRIS Orchestra Fellow Rosa Ortega Ianelli and cellist and assistant principal cellist of the Orquestra Sinfonica de Puerto Rico Rosalyn Ianelli will perform traditional danzas. In addition, we will be joined by representatives from JC: Martha Laureano, JC board member and Richie’s partner, and Hertencia Petersen, aunt of the late Akai Gurley.

The broadcast will take place at 7pm Eastern / 4pm Pacific.
