Pauline Oliveros – Tuning Meditation

Join an open participatory performance led by Laura Lentz, with special guests Lynne Staropoli Boucher and Mona Seghatoleslami. Anyone can be part of this global performance of Pauline Oliveros’ Tuning Meditation over Zoom. The piece is one of a number of sonic meditations that Oliveros created to hone what she called “deep listening” — an art that engages both heart and mind, focus and generosity.

“Begin by taking a deep breath and letting it all the way out with air sound. Listen with your mind’s ear for a tone.” – Pauline Oliveros’s first instruction for Tuning Meditation

Lynne Staropoli Boucher serves as Chair of the Board of Directors for the national Yoga Service Collective and is deeply dedicated to integrating yoga and social justice. In her hometown of Rochester, NY, Lynne works as a full-time yoga teacher and coach, specializing in outdoor yoga, yoga for athletes, paddleboard yoga, and acro yoga. Lynne is an interfaith college chaplain by training and loves to foster healthy connections between mind, body, and spirit.

Mona Seghatoleslami is the host and producer on WXXI Classical 91.5 FM weekdays from 3-7pm Eastern. She also hosts the lunchtime concert series 'Live From Hochstein' Wednesdays at 12:10pm Eastern, interviews musicians, produces special programs, and works on any project she can find that helps connect people and music in our community.

The livestream will take place at 1:30pm Eastern / 10:30am Pacific.
