Xalisco Chamber Orchestra & Orquesta Northwest: Día de la Niñez 2021

Studio Laazo in collaboration with the Mexican Consulate of Seattle and Orquesta Northwest's Xalisco Chamber Orchestra would like to invite you to celebrate the Mexican national holiday Día de la Niñez, or Children’s Day. For this holiday we have prepared a virtual festival. There will be workshops for art, puppetry, storytelling, music, dance, and more. There will also be a raffle with prizes. We are pleased to present and the inaugural performance of the Xalisco Chamber Orchestra conducted by Paula Madrigal. This ensemble of mostly Xalisco Symphony Orchestra members, joined by Orquesta Northwest concertmaster Teo Benson, serves as an opportunity for musicians from Xalisco and from the Ballard Civic Orchestra to perform together. For this concert, the Xalisco Chamber Orchestra presents “La Marcha de las Letras” and “Che Araña” by Francisco Gabilondo Soler “Cri Cri,” arranged by Carlos Bonilla.
The event begins at 6pm Pacific.
