Rachel Mahon is well known in the Canadian organ world, and was appointed Director of Music at Coventry Cathedral in 2020. The fine organ there was largely paid for by donations from the RCCO, spearheaded by Healey Willan, as the modern cathedral rose from the ruins following the destruction of war. Rachel is delighted to include Willan’s monumental Introduction, Passacaglia, and Fugue in her programme.

About the Festival: Welcome to Organ Festival Canada: Hamilton 2021, the first virtual RCCO festival. Although this format is new to all of us, you will find that it includes many of the experiences we have all enjoyed at in-person festivals. Additionally, we are very pleased to offer an international flavour with performances from New York, Houston, and Cambridge, as well as Coventry and St. Albans Cathedrals. Our dynamic programme features world-class organists, award-winning choirs, engaging clinicians, and chances to socialize with your colleagues. Each day will feature around 3 hours of programming, divided into 2 sessions, beginning at 1 pm Eastern / 10am Pacific, with the second session starting at 4pm Eastern / 1pm Pacific.
