Our third Family Musical Moment explores the second movement of Felix Mendelssohn's Symphony No. 4, known as the “Italian" Symphony. When Mendelssohn was 21 years old, he took a 10-month trip to Italy, and that’s when he wrote it. It is one of Mendelssohn’s happiest and most enjoyable pieces.
