RSMI is the summer home for intense study and performance for young professional musicians of the highest caliber from around the world.
Founded by Executive Director Edward Gordon in 1988 as Ravinia’s professional training program for young pianists and string players, RSMI expanded to include the Program for Singers in 1992, and the Program for Jazz in 2000. Since opening its doors, RSMI has offered private coaching, master classes, and performance opportunities to hundreds of young professional musicians, many of whom have gone on to highly visible and successful performing careers.
