Georges Bizet – Jeux d'enfants ("Children's Games") for piano, four hands, Op. 22
Robert Schumann – Piano Quintet in E-flat major, Op. 44

Music@Menlo’s nineteenth season offers nine programs presented over three weekends, three trios of concerts comprising mini-festivals in their own right. The season closes with “Take Five,” a collection of programs anchored by the piano quintets of Robert Schumann, Johannes Brahms, and Antonín Dvořák, complemented by beloved works of French Romanticism. Concert Program VII begins with Georges Bizet’s finest contribution to the keyboard literature, Jeux d’enfants ("Children’s Games"). Pianists owe a greater debt still to Robert and Clara Schumann: Clara, one of her generation’s greatest piano virtuosi, inspired the Piano Quintet from Robert’s pen–the first of its kind, which stands as the point of origin of a grand repertoire tradition.

The livestream will take place at 4pm Pacific. Broadcasting live from Menlo School, Atherton, CA.
