Susanne Bernhard, soprano

Richard Wagner, arr. Martina Trumpp – Tristan und Isolde, WWV 90

The magic of the most influential opera in history, Tristan und Isolde is unsurpassed and still lasts. This paraphrase of the work by Martina Trumpp brings the most iconic, ardent, and famous passages on stage in the composer's living room – right during the Bayreuth festival 2021 period. There will be explanations of the important Leitmotive, the crucial scenes with Tristan and Isolde, as well as Brangäne, Kurwenal, and König Marke, and a musical journey through the three acts, 20-25mins of uninterrupted music for each. All of the iconic Vorspiel will be performed and Isolde's "Liebestod" at the end; for the latter, Solistenensemble D´Accord will be joined by the international soprano Susanne Bernhard, whose art is present on numerous recordings on IDAGIO. The German talk will have English subtitles; in the 10-minute intermission after Act II, there will be some exclusive footage of the historic Haus Wahnfried for the GLOBAL CONCERT HALL audience.

This performance was filmed at Haus Wahnfried, Bayreuth, Germany.

The broadcast will begin Sunday, August 8 at 10am Pacific. This stream is available to watch until Friday, December 31, 2021.

Your ticket purchase will directly support the participating artists through IDAGIO’s Fair Artist Payout Model: IDAGIO pays 80% of the net revenue directly to the performers.
