Composers Robert and Clara Schumann were married in 1840. During the blissful second year of their marriage, the two collaborated on a set of art songs based on the poetry of Frederick Rückert. Hear these beautiful love songs, as well as Robert's famous Piano Quartet, Op. 47, an iconic work that many have lauded as the foundation of piano quartet writing going forward.
