Gretchen Yanover — Selected works

Gretchen Yanover, cello

Every year, Town Hall selects exceptional local artists and scholars for paid residencies where they engage with Town Hall programs and collaborate with our programming team to develop original events for the community.

Seattle cellist Gretchen Yanover is known for creating spacious string atmospheres woven with warm melodies. For her Scratch Night as Town Hall’s 2021 Fall Artist-in-Residence, Yanover will introduce herself musically through a collection of past and present work, performed on the Great Hall Stage. Throughout the evening, she will share the stories behind the titles of her work and discuss the meaning we draw from titles associated with otherwise wordless music. Yanover welcomes questions from audience members and will invite opportunities for discussion about her pieces throughout the performance.

The concert will take place at 7:30pm Pacific.

A livestream of this presentation will also be available. Tickets for both online and in-person presentations will be free with reservation.

Please note: Masks and proof of vaccination are required for in-person attendance. More information here: https://townhallseattle.org/plan-your-visit/building-policies/
