Note from the Host: "Bolivian guitarist Marcos Puña was fortunate to learn with great teachers, being the last direct student of Abel Carlevaro (Uruguay), and [also studying with] Eduardo Fernández (Uruguay) and Eliot Fisk (United States). He is a graduate of the Montevideo Conservatory (with Mario Payssé), with two postgraduate degrees at the Barcelona Liceo Conservatory (with Guillem Pérez-Quer).

"He won important competitions: Llobet, Zarautz (Spain), Cortinas, JJMM (Uruguay) and Tarija (Bolivia).

"[Puña has recorded] 11 albums and [performed in] many concerts in the Americas and Europe.

"An outstanding professor, [Puña's] chair at the National Conservatory of Music (La Paz) has brought together relevant national guitar talents since 2006, being head of the Guitar Department and director of the institution's Guitar Orchestra. He is also very active in online classes with his Virtual Classical Guitar School. His YouTube channel has documentaries, video classes, and a lot of material.

"He directs the La Paz International Guitar Meeting, the Tarija National Guitar Competition and the Cochabamba International Guitar Biennial."
