Three-time Latin Grammy nominee Berta Rojas pays homage to a pair of female heroines of classical music, Ida Presti (1924-1967) and Maria Luisa Anido (1907-1996), both composers and guitarists. Her program includes pieces composed by Presti such as Segovia, Dance Rythmique, as well as Anido’s Aire de Vidalita, Triste No. 1, and El Misachico; and includes Anido’s Portrait, a four-movement piece dedicated to Anido by famed composer Sergio Assad. Ms. Rojas ranks among today’s foremost classical guitarists. She has been praised as “guitarist extraordinaire” by The Washington Post and by Classical Guitar Magazine as “Ambassador of the classical guitar.”
