National Sawdust: Magos Herrera Presents "Remanso"

In her return to the National Sawdust stage, Magos Herrera Quartet – as well as a string quartet comprised of members of the orchestral collective The Knights – will present Remanso with music that Herrera produced during the COVID-19 isolation. "Remanso" in English translates into "backwater," a remote or isolated place. It can mean the flow of a river that runs slowly or stops. Humanity has experienced a pause for the last year and a half due to COVID-19 pandemic. Isolation, loss, grieving; but, also a space to reflect on the unconscious inertia of our daily lives, the constant anticipation mindsets, exhaustion and separation from what is essential as individuals and as societies. For Herrera, it was a gate to transit a personal pilgrimage to ground where her voice belongs, to continue nurturing a musical path filled with purpose and an invitation to create a conscious, truer connection with the world.
Doors open at 7pm; performance begins at 7:30pm.
COVID-19 Protocols: For the safety of our community, staff, and artists, before you join us at National Sawdust, you must be fully vaccinated by the date of attendance for access to the building and restaurant, Disco Tacos. Complete vaccination is 14 days following a final dose of the Johnson & Johnson, Pfizer, Moderna, or Astra-Zeneca vaccine. There are no exceptions and a negative COVID test is not an acceptable alternative to being fully vaccinated. Guests must wear N95, KF94, or KN95 high-grade mask while at the venue.
