Third Coast Percussion at Northwestern University

Grammy Award-winning Chicago-based quartet Third Coast Percussion premieres Bienen student compositions in this Institute for New Music event. Praised for its "commandingly elegant" (The New York Times) performances and "inspirational sense of fun and curiosity" (
(Minnesota Star-Tribune), the quartet has commissioned and premiered new works by composers including Philip Glass, Missy Mazzoli, Augusta Read Thomas, Glenn Kotche, and David T. Little. The ensemble maintains strong ties to Chicago’s artistic community and have collaborated with Hubbard Street Dance Chicago, the Chicago Children’s Choir, the Civic Orchestra of Chicago, and the Adler Planetarium.
