In the early 1900s, the city of Seattle was home to six different mandolin orchestras! Today, there is just one. The Seattle Mandolin Orchestra, under the direction of Jeff Brumley, exists to preserve, promote and extend America's mandolin ensemble tradition. Featuring the entire mandolin family of instruments (mandolin, mandola, mandocello and bass), the orchestra's repertoire encompasses baroque, classical, Americana, jazz, folk, and holiday traditions. This year's program will include some classic favorites as well as the debut of several new arrangements, with varied music from the 18th, 19th, and 20th Centuries.
