Over four decades, the Orion Quartet has been a fixture on the PCMS series, with 28 appearances to date. Having announced that this season will be their last, the Orion returns to Philadelphia once more to display their masterful technique and "warm, variable, and beautiful" (Strings Magazine) ensemble tone. Their farewell program concludes with Beethoven's Op. 130/133, "one of the great artistic testaments to the human capacity for meaning in the face of chaos" (Mark Steinberg).
This performance will be presented in-person at Benjamin Franklin Hall, and online via free livestream at https://www.pcmsconcerts.org/concerts/livestreams/.
