About Rainbow City Performing Arts

Rainbow City Performing Arts (RCPA) is a nonprofit organization that celebrates LGBTQIA+ diversity and inclusion through musical expression. RCPA consists of seven performance ensembles that play various genres of music, such as jazz, orchestra, sports band, and drumline. RCPA's mission is to create a safe and supportive environment for musicians of all identities, skills, and backgrounds, and to promote the equity and visibility of LGBTQIA+ people in the community. RCPA also supports young and marginalized artists by commissioning new works and providing instruments and scholarships.

We are a loud and proud marching band with a spirited drumline and glittering color guard that has been marching in Seattle since 1998 to represent LGBTQIA+ musicians in outdoor events all summer. We're a highly inclusive ensemble and judge our excellence by the joy we create and the family of musicians we gather. We have fun together while focusing on honing our performance to thrill our audiences. Wherever we go, we have a great time!

Rainbow City Drumline (RCD) has been the beating heart of Seattle parades for over twenty five years! We march and perform in festivals across western Washington, such as Seattle Pride, as well as play throughout all OL Reign home soccer matches from March to October. We're a tight-knit group of drummers with a communal family atmosphere to lift us all up together to have an amazing time playing for the public.

Rainbow City Drumline is open to musicians at any skill level, provided they can read music and are age 18 or older. In Rainbow City Drumline, we have a long history of helping musicians gain their first drumline experience or explore drumline instruments they always wanted to try but haven't yet. We have lots of opportunities to hone and improve your skills alongside the rest of us!
