Video Release Celebration Concert – What's Bel canto?

Bel Canto in Seattle (BCS) is a project led by soprano Mikiko Hashimoto, with the intent to spread the traditional Italian signing techniques of the same name. We're holding a mini-concert to celebrate the release of a series of 6 videos on YouTube introducing the Bel Canto basics.
At the concert, we plan to perform songs from Italian operas and art song books, in addition to Japanese classics. There'll also be a demo of a Bel Canto lesson, a rare opportunity to take a peek back stage.
Your performers will be BCS sopranos Mikiko Hashimoto and Fumi Tagata, pianist Aki Fujino and guest flutist, 16-year-old Manami Chiba.
The production of the BCS video series is a labor of love, and the videos are available free of charge. In support of the project, we're asking for a 20 dollar donation from concert guests.
