Bang on a Can and The Noguchi Museum present a double bill by cellist Issei Herr and drummer/producer Matt Evans at our a monthly series of live performances in the Museum’s garden and galleries. Free with museum admission.
Issei Herr mines her background as a classically trained cellist to create a new sonic-world, exploring openness, vulnerability, and a sense of wonder in her intricately looped and layered compositions. Matt Evans presents a solo electro-acoustic performance for drumset. Taking cues from millennial esoterica, natural phenomena, and science fiction, Matt uses drum-driven hypnotic soundscapes and improvisatory performances to embody imaginary ecosystems of surreal sonic worlds.
