Wayward Music Series: NonSeq Curators Concert

Nonsequitur welcomes our newest cohort of community curators for the 2024 NonSeq concert series: Beth Fleenor, Connie Fu, Kole Galbraith, and Naeim Rahmani. All of them have performed and organized very interesting shows on their own at the Chapel in recent years, and we are very excited to have them on board to guide the next year of our programming. Each of them will be responsible for curating three events in the coming year, for a total of twelve performances featuring local and visiting artists. To kick off the new concert season, they will be performing solo sets.
About Wayward Music Series
Each month, Nonsequitur and a community of like-minded organizations and artists present 10 concerts of adventurous and experimental music in the gorgeous Chapel Performance Space at the Good Shepherd Center: contemporary/post-classical composition, free improvisation and the outer limits of jazz, electronic/electroacoustic music, new instruments, phonography, sound art, and other innovative musics.

enereph is a persona of multidisciplinary artist Connie Fu (b. 1992). Her atmospheric, percussive, and labyrinthine compositions have been presented live, on radio, and as recorded releases by Acceleration Radio, Vancouver (2023), Ground Hum, Seattle (2023), ANTiPODE, Seattle (2023), Active Passive Performance Society, Galiano Island (2023), OneBeat (2022), and Heterodox Records, Portland (2021). Tonight she will play a set from computer, synth, and sampler accompanied by a video composition.

Seattle and Estonia-based artist Kole Galbraith creates both fast-frenetic harsh noise pieces and long-form drone abstractions, which are described by French artist Golem Mechanique as, "somewhere between Bernard Permegiani walking on fire and an unknown Stalker soundtrack. Brutal literature. Every sound is relevant."
